Job Description

A major hospital in Brooklyn seeks a Director of Quality Improvement to organize, plan, develop, implement and oversee all performance improvement activities of the facility.



Responsibilities:



  • Provide and maintain a systematic, organization-wide data driven environment for improving clinical care and outcomes and decreasing clinical risk and medical errors, utilizing internal and external benchmarks

  • Serve as the hospital liaison to regulatory agencies, oversee coordination of surveys and survey preparation activities while serving as the resource for hospital personnel

  • Prepare, implement and track corrective action plans

  • Coordinate performance improvement activities hospital-wide

  • Coordinate with Risk Management and ensure the interface of patient care occurrences and findings, including the development of metrics for risk reduction actions taken

  • Liaison with the Joint Commission responsible for all Joint Commission survey preparation at the hospital and survey activity/follow-up

Job Requirements

Qualifications:




    • Current New York State Professional Registered Nurse (RN) or related licensure in medical or nursing field, or equivalent experience

    • Master's Degree required, Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or related field in Healthcare, or equivalent experience

    • Minimum of three (3) years direct clinical experience (medical/surgical or critical care, preferred), required

    • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in quality management and/or performance improvement, including two (2) years in a leadership role, preferred
