Job Description

Well known healthcare facility is looking for a full time Assistant Benefits Manager.

Working directly with the Benefits Manager, the Assistant Benefits Manager will perform the day-to-day responsibilities in regards to the organizations’ health and welfare plans. 

This position will serve as a subject matter expert regarding employee benefits and must be knowledgeable regarding federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Will be responsible for conducting benefit orientations, managing FMLA, medical leaves and NYS Paid Family Leaves of absences, Workers’ Compensation and retirement plans (403(b) and a frozen pension plan) and wellness programs. 

Will develop policies and procedures.

Responsible for correspondence and will work with applicable collective bargaining agreements. Will interact with all department leaders and employees across the organization.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Human Resources or a related field with at least 3 years of progressively responsible benefits experience is required.

C.E.B.S., PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification and familiarity with 1199 SEIU unions a plus.  

Must be a detail-oriented team player who possesses excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, conflict resolution and writing skills and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, ADP required and experience with KRONOS preferred.
