What are we looking for in our Sr. Data / Reporting Engineer?

Job Title: Sr. Data Engineer
Work Mode: Orlando, FL; onsite 4 days a week
Pay Range: $70/h - $81/h, depending upon experience
Duration: 6 months contract

JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for someone who applies practical knowledge of development and engineering to conceive, design, develop, test, and implement data extracts, transformation, migration, and uploads. This will be done using modern software development paradigms (e.g., agile, product, cloud). The right candidate must have experience with food & beverage supply chain technology, with deep skills in SQL development in Windows and RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environments. The ideal candidate will also have report/dashboarding development experience using MicroStrategy Cloud Environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Is responsible for creating data mappings, extracts, transformations, data migration, and uploads.
  2. Configures supply chain technology for business use.
  3. Owns SQL and script programming, testing, and debugging of applications after data loads.
  4. Gathers reporting requirements, designs reports, and develops reports for business use.
  5. Creates stories in JIRA backlogs and participates in agile ceremonies.
  6. Reviews and writes code that meets set quality gates.
  7. Creates/updates documentation for reproducible data loading and configuration.
  8. Interacts and coordinates work with other technical and testing groups in the organization.
  9. Coordinates team members in finding root-cause of problems and issue resolution.
  10. Recommends improvements to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the effectiveness of the team.

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or similar field or related work experience.
  • 5+ years of progressively related experience in data extracts, analysis, and reporting.

Significant knowledge/experience in relevant technologies, such as:

  • Experience with food & beverage supply chain technology
  • Deep skills in SQL development in Windows and RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) environments
  • Report/dashboarding development experience using MicroStrategy Cloud Environment
  • Agile Tools (Jira)

Soft Skills & Other Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, self-organized, delivers quality, and capable of tracking multiple pieces of work simultaneously.
  • Ability to handle virtual teams and work with resources in multiple sites (onsite, offshore, near shore).
  • Excellent time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications               :

  • Knowledge of report writing against Snowflake and Oracle and MS SQL Server DBs.
  • Experience with Crunchtime and/or Blue Yonder’s Forecasting and Replenishment technology including associated interface/data structures.
