What are we looking for in our Billing & Collections Specialist?
A reputable Law Firm with deep roots in real estate based out of Los Angeles, CA is actively hiring a Billing & Collections specialist to their accounting team.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of client invoices, statements, and timesheets.
- Resolve billing disputes and address client inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Develop and document billing procedures and systems to streamline the billing process.
- Implement comprehensive bill-back processes to track and allocate expenses.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all billing-related inquiries.
- Maintain regular communication with clients to ensure timely payment and address billing concerns.
- Manage client environments from initial setup to ongoing maintenance.
- Analyze billing rejections, denials, and past-due accounts, and work to resolve outstanding issues.
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in Aderant Expert Billing, Bill Blast, Microsoft Office (Excel) and Windows applications.
- Demonstrates high levels of professionalism and integrity, observing confidentiality in all firm and client matters.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
- Exhibits a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys and all levels of firm personnel.
Education & experience:
- Associate degree or related coursework in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 5+ years of full-charge billing and collection experience in a professional service setting. Billing experience at another law firm is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge and hands on experience of electronic billing systems with various platforms such as Legal Tracker (Serengeti) Ty Metrix, Counsel Link, Collaborati, Collaboration Portal and Billing Point.
Key details:
- Position is based in Los Angeles, CA. Must be amenable to a hybrid work schedule (3 days in office per week).
- Salary: $75,000-90,000 annually, DOE.
