SCOM Administrator

PrideNow Winston-Salem, NC (Onsite) Full-Time



What are we looking for in our SCOM Administrator?

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday 9:00am - 5:00pm
Mode: Hybrid - 2 to 3 days in a week office

The employee will work through a training period of approximately 5 weeks; during training they may work alternate shifts.

Position Summary: The SCOM Administrator will ensure technology is running as designed to deliver products to customers. To identify, log and resolve any issues. Candidate should be mature, self-motivated, extremely well-organized and detail-oriented, able to function under pressure and handle numerous tasks simultaneously. The position would be well-suited to a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is meticulous. S/he must be able to take initiative, prioritize with minimal supervision and work independently, as well as part of a team.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or education/training in an IT related field
  • 3+ years’ experience with Cisco routers switches and Firewalls
  • 3+ years’ experience with system center operations manager (SCOM 2012/19)
  • 3+ years’ experience with authoring management packs
  • 3+ years’ experience with dashboarding and alerting with SCOM
  • 3+ years’ experience with working with Database, MQ, WebSphere
  • 3+ years’ experience with Red Hat Linux and AIX Servers in an enterprise environment
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and support of distributed financial services transaction processing platforms
  • 2+ years using VMWARE 5.X or 6.X
  • Experience using various versions of Windows Servers
  • Experience in analyzing debugging issues as it applies to Cisco switches and routers
  • Experience supporting IP Telephony systems
  • Strong hands on experience with JAVA server side technology and J2EE App server preferably WebSphere
  • Experience with payment products, operations, and technology
  • Strong working knowledge of UNIX/LINUX commands, shell scripting and database queries (e.g. for troubleshooting as well as data patching)
  • Datacenter and Monitoring Experience
  • Strong knowledge of relational database Microsoft SQL and DB2
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Must be detail oriented and organized in both thought and practice
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a professional demeanor and be able to effectively work with external customers, vendors and staff
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle conflicting priorities
  • Must be a strong team player
  • Ability to set priorities and handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications desired:

  • Experience with credit card processing application, digital wallets, emerging payments, mobile payments
  • Unisys Mainframe Experience
  • CCNA, CCNP, MCSE and ITIL certification
  • IMB MQ and Connect Direct experience
  • Linux Shell Scripting
  • Vendor management experience

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the support of servers, network devices and mainframes at all facilities for hardware or software errors
  • Design and execute diagnostic tests to monitor the health and performance of computer systems and communications equipment
  • Monitor client help desk calls and assist in the in resolution of problems; escalate problems to internal technical groups as appropriate
  • Test and install communications equipment for internal and external customer use
  • Create documentation that will troubleshoot internal networks and systems efficiently
  • Provide training for Operations Representatives on the various networks and systems that client supports
  • Provide enhanced network support for WAN and IP Telephony networks
  • Proactively contact participants when surveillance systems identify connectivity issues
  • Interface with vendors and clients to repair and resolve installation issues
  • Support wide-area MPLS services, as well as other communication lines, for all customer communication links
  • Implement changes in our customer facing environments
  • Coordinate and participate in Disaster Recovery exercises
  • Prepare Operations for the implementation or decommission of services
  • Assist on various team projects to ensure Continual Service Improvements occur within Operations
  • Engage with technical teams at our client banks, E-Wallets and payment networks to develop technical solution design for integration projects
  • Triage and troubleshoot and resolve escalated production issues on a complex mission critical application
  • Perform root cause analysis of issues
  • Develop run-books for recurring issues, system implementation, shutdown and recovery
  • Support release implementation, infrastructure upgrades, maintenance and disaster recovery testing
  • Support Java, WebSphere & File Transfer applications
