Electronical Design Engineering Lead

What are we looking for in our Electronical Design Engineering Lead?

Russell Tobin has partnered with a leading specialty manufacturer in the Indianapolis area to add to their growing team! This is a direct hire/permanent role with a salary range of $125k-$170k/year.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic Lead Electronics Design Engineer to spearhead our electronics design team. In this role, you will guide and mentor the team through all stages of hardware circuit design, development, and testing for airworthy and certified electronic engine controllers and monitoring systems. Your leadership will be crucial in ensuring that all electronic products meet rigorous program requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and direction throughout the design and development phases of new products.
  • Oversee and take ownership of electronic requirements, circuit design, analysis, reviews, FMEA, and verification and validation testing.
  • Address and resolve technical, manufacturing, and supply chain issues to facilitate swift decision-making.
  • Develop and define electronics test plans and methodologies, and review and approve design and test results.
  • Ensure high-quality outputs through internal gate reviews and other relevant processes.
  • Identify and manage project risks related to technical aspects, costs, supply chain, and schedules in alignment with the risk management plan.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience in electronics design, or
  • Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in electronics design.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in circuit design.
  • Proven experience in technical leadership, people management, and project management.
  • Proficiency in Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniques.
  • Familiarity with Safety Critical Control Systems (DAL A-C), High Integrity Control Solutions, and standards such as RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810.
  • Experience with New Product Introduction (NPI), change management, and risk management processes.

Rate/Salary: $125,000-$170,000/year
