What are we looking for in our Financial Accountant?

Exciting Career Opportunity! Looking for a Financial Accountant for a Rapidly Growing Engineering Firm in Dublin 22!

Our client is a highly successful Irish-founded engineering company who are one of the leaders in the construction of data centres in Europe. They have recently received a huge investment and are looking to continue their rapid expansion.

We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing payments, forecasting cash flows, and handling foreign exchange and hedging operations. This role is critical in ensuring the financial stability and accuracy of our financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Payments Management:
  • Process and authorize payments through the bank.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of all financial obligations.
  • Reconcile payment transactions and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Cash Flow Forecasting:
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, annual, and rolling cash flow forecasts.
    • Analyze variances and provide actionable insights.
    • Maintain and improve cash flow models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Foreign Exchange and Hedging:
    • Monitor and manage foreign exchange exposures.
    • Execute hedging strategies to mitigate financial risks.
    • Prepare reports on FX positions and hedging effectiveness.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies.
    • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic financial forecasts.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
    • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience (PQE) in a similar role.
    • Strong experience in making payments through banking systems.
    • Proficiency in cash flow forecasting and financial modeling.
    • In-depth knowledge of foreign exchange and hedging operations.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
    Location: Ballymount, Dublin 22 (5 days onsite)
