What are we looking for in our Test Technician?
We have partnered with a leader in the powersports industry to help with their growing team! Test Technician responsible for ensuring our vehicles meet industry-leading standards for performance, durability, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field and lab testing to validate production intent and ensure vehicle performance meets engineering requirements.
- Execute test procedures according to R&D protocols, maintaining clear pass/fail metrics for every new model.
- Perform chassis or engine/drivetrain component replacements as needed during testing, ensuring pre-ride safety inspections are conducted.
- Document endurance test results, including daily logs and final reporting, and guide endurance riders to ensure expected results.
- Maintain clean and organized shop spaces at various locations, including corporate offices and off-site locations.
- Drive company trucks and trailers to test locations, adhering to all driving regulations and maintaining a good driving record.
- Operate within standard operating procedures and prioritize health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical training in mechanical chassis systems, small engines, and power development.
- Experience in developing, troubleshooting, and improving vehicle systems such as suspension, calibration, braking, and clutching.
- Professional-level motorcycle/OHV mechanic with racing experience preferred.
- Basic repair and fabrication skills using machine tools and welding equipment.
- 1-2 years of previous experience in a similar role within the powersports, automotive, or similar industry preferred.
- Strong organizational skills for field/lab testing and reporting findings.
- Computer literacy for report writing, spreadsheets, and email.
- Ability to travel extensively for in-field testing, including multiple overnight travel periods and up to 25% off-site travel yearly.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
Rate/Salary: $55k-$75k/year
