Data Governance Analyst

What are we looking for in our Data Governance Analyst?

6 Months contract

Beaverton, OR (M-Th onsite, F remote)

Pays: $40/hr. - $46/hr. W2 (Depending Upon Experience)

This role is responsible for the following:

• Developing, documenting and driving foundational data governance work aimed at ensuring appropriate consumption of product data, including the following work focuses.
• Informing and educating business partners of their role in governing the data managed by their teams.
• Influencing the identification of functional SMEs/resources to support metadata build work, and then holding those SMEs accountable to aiding in the development of accurate business-metadata.
• Documenting and publishing critical business-metadata to ensure that data is appropriately maintained, accessed and applied.
• Collaborating with business and technology partners to ensure that metadata is documented and accessible in Enterprise data catalog.

What the work looks like: A typical day/week involves initiating direct engagements with data governance and business partners in product area as the contractor leads the effort to define and secure our product data in ways that meet business needs while balancing quality, risk and cost. The contractor will document their processes and track their progress to share with leaders. They will organize the information gathered and orchestrate its publication in metadata management tool.

Function: Will be eliminating data risks identified by internal audit, including writing and aligning data definitions with product creation team.

Required:

• 2+ years heavy data experience; Excel and PLM experience; background with user side of data vs coding/data building.
• Strong verbal and technical communication skills.
• Ability to capture written data definitions and clearly communicate across teams.
• Detail oriented, building relationships, trustworthy, influential, independent.

Preferred:

• Understanding of footwear, apparel, and equipment products.
