What are we looking for in our Pensions consultant ?
Pension Consultant - Fully Remote Role
We are looking for an experienced Pensions Consultant to join our homebased DB consulting team. If you’re the type of person who wants to join a team managing and advising a portfolio of corporate and trustee clients - this could be the role for you!
Job Description:
What will you deliver?
- Develop excellent relationships with client portfolio and understand their needs and objectives
- Makes a significant personal contribution to the development of the team’s consulting capability, collateral and people
- Able to effectively communicate complex and technical issues to clients and colleagues
- Identifies solutions and risks for clients based upon an expert understanding of their situation and relevant technical, regulatory and statutory requirements
- Maintains a client focus and concern for quality, which manifests itself in a high degree of client satisfaction and client/business retention
- Assists Head of DB Consulting & Scheme Management in achieving its practice objectives.
What are we looking for?
- DB Pensions experience in a client facing role this can include Scheme Events, GMP Equalisation, Buy In/Outs, Scheme Wind Up
- You will have covered some or all of, scheme secretarial work, DB pensions projects, Consulting or actuarial project work
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.

Key responsibilities
- Provides a complete and professional support service to the Consultants, including preparation of draft communications, advice and papers produced within CEB guidelines
- Assists with preparation of new client agreements and scopes of work to CEB standards
- Monitors time recording throughout the team ensuring correct protocols are observed.
- Manages the team invoicing process.
Experience, qualifications and key skills
Essential
- Honours degree (2.1 or higher)
- Excellent IT and organisational skills
- Ability to work flexibly and able to work under pressure
- Good communication skills
- Proactive
- Commercially aware
- Works positively with colleagues and is able to manage workflow
Desirable
- Good presentation skills (or ability to acquire such skills)
- Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
- Part qualified PMI
- Project management experience and knowledge
