Sales Tax Accountant

What are we looking for in our Sales Tax Accountant?

Our client, an American multinational mass media and business information conglomerate, is seeking a Sales Tax Accountant on a hybrid basis.

Contract – W2 Non-Exempt

Pay Range: $50 - $56 per hour DOE

Duties:

• Ensure accurate and timely filing of sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
• Provide crucial support during sales and use tax audits, including the preparation of documentation and responses to auditor inquiries.
• Calculate and analyze sales and use tax liabilities for financial reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial statements.
• Track, research, and calculate the impact of regulatory changes on sales and use tax obligations.
• Provide recommendations for optimizing tax strategies and maintaining compliance.

Qualifications:

• Multi-state sales tax experience
• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles, controls, and best practices
• 5+ years of experience in sales and use tax accounting.
• Strong understanding of multi-state tax regulations and filings.
• Experience with tax software and ERP systems.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification preferred.
