About the Role
The Peloton team at client is seeking a passionate and skilled Developer Advocate to support our YARN (Yet Another Resource Negotiator) customers. In this role, you will empower developers and data scientists by providing them with the resources and support they need to leverage YARN effectively for their batch analytics workloads, resource management, and large-scale data processing needs.

What You’ll Do:
Advocate and Support:
- Serve as the primary advocate for developers using YARN within the Peloton framework, ensuring they have the necessary tools, documentation, and support.
- Facilitate the adoption and effective use of YARN across various teams by understanding their needs and challenges. 

Community Engagement:
- Build and nurture a strong community around YARN and Peloton, both within Client and in the broader developer ecosystem.
- Participate in relevant forums, online communities, and events to promote the use of YARN and gather feedback.

 

Education and Training:
- Develop and deliver educational content such as tutorials, codelabs, documentation, and videos to help developers get up to speed with YARN.
- Conduct webinars, workshops, and training sessions to demonstrate best practices and new features.

 

Documentation and Feedback Loop:
- Collaborate with engineering teams to create and maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation on the usage of YARN in the Peloton environment.
- Act as a liaison between the developer community and the Peloton/YARN engineering teams, providing valuable feedback to drive continuous improvement. 

Metrics and Reporting:
- Track and analyze key metrics related to the adoption and usage of YARN and Peloton, including user experiences and feedback.
- Report on the success of developer advocacy initiatives and provide insights and recommendations based on data.

Basic Qualifications:Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of YARN, Hadoop, and related big data technologies.
- Experience with Spark, Hive, and other data processing engines running on YARN.

- Proficient in resource management practices and familiarity with managing large-scale computing clusters. 

Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts and convey them to varied audiences. 

Community Focus:
- Experience in building and sustaining developer communities.
- Passion for helping developers succeed and a customer-focused mindset. 

Collaborative Spirit:
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and marketing teams.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 

Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a Developer Advocate role or similar capacity.
- Experience with containerization technologies and running applications in containerized environments.
- Knowledge of client’s internal tools and processes, particularly those related to big data.
