CMM Programmer

What are we looking for in our CMM Programmer?

Russell Tobin has partnered with a premier specialty manufacturer in the Jamestown, NY area to add a CMM Programmer to their growing team! As a CMM Programmer, CMM Programmer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the precision and accuracy of our precision components. If you have a passion for quality control processes and a knack for dimensional metrology, this is the role for you!

Key Responsibilities:

CMM Programming:

  • Develop and implement CMM programs using advanced software to inspect complex aerospace and defense components.

Dimensional Metrology:

  • Conduct precise measurements using CMM equipment to verify machined parts' conformance to engineering specifications.

Blueprint Interpretation:

  • Analyze engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to create accurate CMM programs.

Quality Control:

  • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure products meet stringent quality standards and customer requirements.

Inspection Planning:

  • Plan and execute inspection routines, including fixture design and setup, for efficient and accurate inspections.

Data Analysis:

  • Analyze measurement data, generate detailed reports, and identify non-conformities for corrective actions.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance on CMM equipment to maintain optimal functionality and accuracy.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process enhancements and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (preferred but not required).
  • Proven experience as a CMM Programmer in the defense or aerospace manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in CMM programming software, such as PC-DMIS.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
  • Familiarity with various measurement instruments and tools.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality standards.


Salary: $55k-$65k/year
