Job Title: Structural Engineering Technician

Location: Overland Park, KS (Hybrid)

Duration: 6 Months Contract to Hire

Payrate: $50/hr. to $62/hr.

Schedule: 3 Days in office, 2 days remote

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Structural Engineering Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structural engineering, proficiency in 3D modeling software, and a strong attention to detail. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects and collaborate with a talented team of professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize knowledge of engineering standards, systems, and document control to guide project development.
• Review project requirements and ensure deliverables meet the necessary format and content standards.
• Promote quality within projects by reviewing design inputs for consistency and compliance with codes and standards.
• Develop design concepts and deliverables using established engineering principles and practices.
• Coordinate with other team members to exchange project information and support field activities as needed.
• Identify key client interests and drivers, and communicate project requirements, progress, and schedules accordingly.
• Assist in developing and communicating design standards and process improvement activities.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineering technicians.
• Monitor staffing levels and resource needs for projects, and assist in resource management activities.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 8 years of experience in structural engineering.
• Proficiency in 3D modeling software (e.g., Open Buildings, SmartPlant).
• Experience with Bluebeam or similar tools.
• Strong ability to use electronic applications and programs required for assignments, including CADD and information modeling systems.
• Advanced knowledge of engineering standards, document control, and company policies.
• Intermediate understanding of industry trends and technology.
• Basic knowledge of construction practices and engineering design principles.
• Familiarity with procurement, contract administration, and project controls.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Education and Experience:

• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of related work experience.

Rate/Salary: $50/hr. to $62/hr.
