Purchasing Analyst
What are we looking for in our Purchasing Analyst?
Title: Purchasing Analyst
Location: Bass Creek, MN
Pay Rate: $ 26 – 30 / hour
Contract Duration: 6 Months, potential to extend
Job Description
Actively manage Parts, Garments & Accessories (PG&A) suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of products to distribution facilities. Coordinate with demand planning analysts to ensure accurate purchase quantities, meeting strategic inventory and service level objectives to fulfill customer needs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and foster relationships with select suppliers to drive consistent performance and enhance back-order recovery.
- Purchase Order Management: Review system-recommended purchase quantities in collaboration with demand planning analysts, improving accuracy.
- Order Approval & Delivery Oversight: Approve purchase orders, ensure on-time delivery by reviewing and adjusting expedite, defer, and cancel messages to meet fill-rate and inventory goals.
- Backorder Resolution: Address backorder issues promptly, aligning with set goals.
- Data Integrity: Work with suppliers to maintain system data integrity, including cost, MOQ, lead time, and other key information.
- Negotiation: Negotiate cost, lead time, minimum, and economic order quantities to Polaris’ advantage.
- Cross-Department Coordination: Collaborate with multiple departments to support business objectives.
- Issue Escalation: Identify and communicate urgent issues proactively to the supervisor.
- Additional Responsibilities: Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Skills & Knowledge
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Experience: 1+ years in supply chain management (e.g., MRP, logistics, inventory management)
- Technical Skills: Intermediate Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, Conditional Formatting)
- Core Competencies:
- High attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Problem-solving aptitude with a focus on process improvement
- Ability to negotiate, influence, and resolve conflicts diplomatically
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision
