Lead Costing Manager
What are we looking for in our Lead Costing Manager?
Our client, a global sportswear brand, is seeking a Lead Costing Manager.
Contract W2
Pay Range: $50.00 - $56.00 per hour DOE
Location: Beaverton, OR
DUTIES:
- Lead facilitating Costing capabilities for new palette materials, creating and maintaining ongoing tools, and executing cost consolidation programs for maximum ROI
- Translate raw materials market data into negotiation targets, create negotiation and costing strategies, conduct cost execution with key suppliers, track seasonal development cost progress, and capture value through operational reporting.
- Unlock aggregated volume across similar materials to expand multi-source capabilities while improving finished goods COGs margins.
Work closely with Materials Costing leadership while driving a critical x-functional partnership with Material Sourcing, Partner/Materials Management, Operations, Finance, and Global Business Planning teams. - Connect with Material Developers, Designers, Chemical Engineers, Suppliers, and Factory Partners to understand product excellence requirements, manufacturing processes, and associated sustainability initiatives.
- Serve as an integral contact for multi-source costing levers, 3PL providers, material trends, strategies, and metrics.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years of Material Costing, Finance, Material Development experience or 6+ years of Sourcing, Manufacturing, Operations, or Supply Chain
- Leadership and proven independent project management experience a must.
- Knowledge of footwear/apparel construction, material manufacturing, and costing preferred
- Exposure to raw material commodity markets and forecasting
- Strong supplier negotiation skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Smartsheet, Jira, Miro, and Tableau
- Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills preferred
- Knowledge of Alteryx, SQL, and Python a plus
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams through change, collaboration, and ability to gain buy-in for business plans
- Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment with a strong attention to detail and process orientation
- Experience investigating, capturing, and maintaining material/product data in an information management system
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally, including the ability to collaborate with and influence all levels of management
- Team player, proactive, flexible, and with a desire to learn and grow
- Cultural awareness and a champion for diversity, inclusion, and belonging
- Ability to travel 5%
