Arboricultural Surveyor

What are we looking for in our Arboricultural Surveyor?

I have partnered with a leading Consultancy who are looking for a highly skilled and passionate Arboricultural Surveyor to join their successful team. This person will play a crucial role in assessing, managing, and conserving trees within various landscapes. As an Arboricultural Surveyor, you will conduct detailed surveys, provide expert advice, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions to tree management challenges.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive tree surveys to assess health, condition, and structural integrity.
  • Identify potential risks and hazards associated with trees and provide recommendations for mitigation.
  • Prepare detailed reports outlining survey findings, recommendations, and management plans.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective tree management strategies.
  • Stay informed about industry standards, best practices, and relevant legislation.
  • Utilise specialised software and tools for data collection, analysis, and mapping.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Arboriculture, Forestry, or related field.
  • Proven experience in conducting Arboricultural surveys and assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of tree biology, identification, and health assessment techniques.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, guidelines, and industry standards (e.g., BS5837, BS3998).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in using GIS software and other relevant technology.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional accreditation such as AA, ISA Certified Arborist or Technician.
  • Experience in urban forestry management and planning.
  • Previous experience working with local authorities, developers, or environmental agencies.
