What are we looking for in our Contract Analyst?

Our client, a renowned financial services company based in Saint Paul, MN, seeks a Contract Analyst.

W2 contract duration: 6 month (Contract to hire)

Pay Range: $26.00 - $31.00 / hour

Location: Saint Paul, MN (hybrid: 3 days remote; 2 days onsite)

Position Summary:

Duties:

• Draft and issue Group Life (Life, VADD, GUL) insurance policies and certificates through the analysis of a client’s incumbent policy, plan design, and state-approved policy forms while adhering to internal standards, and compliance guidelines. 
• Amend Group Life insurance policies and certificates. 
• Act as an SME for Group Life product policy related questions; advising on policy-specific language, provisions, structure, form, and state requirements. 
• Actively collaborate and meet with clients, channel partners, and internal stakeholders 
• Work on team projects; such as process improvements, policy rewrites, transitions to different products and paper, and assist with product filing, while assuring a timely, accurate, and compliant result. 
• Provides creative compliant solutions while independently resolving any issues, questions, or areas of ambiguity with peer collaboration as necessary, escalating to the Leader as needed.
• Actively works to continuously improve processes whenever possible, and to highlight areas of need to partners and/or Leaders. 

Qualifications:  

• 1 – 2 years of Group Life Insurance industry experience products, standards, forms, filing, etc.
• Ability to read and understand legal form structure and meaning
• Excellent analytical skills with matching drive to action.
• Self-driven, comfortable working with limited direction with a strong ability to organize, plan, and manage competing priorities
• Strong communication skills, spoken and written; clear, and concise, with the ability to effectively translate complex language
• Critical thinking and writing experience in Group Life insurance, legal, or proposal related field 
• Strong writing skills; clear, concise, and in a legal form, to align with team/enterprise standards 
• Self-driven, comfortable working with limited direction, strong ability to organize, plan, and manage competing priorities
• Strong collaboration skills are needed to fulfill our mission while maintaining a client-centric attitude. This includes active collaboration and coaching within the Contracts Team. 
• Proactive communication skills, able to effectively translate complex language for others to understand including internal stakeholders as well as in client-facing meetings.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Onedrive, SharePoint, HotDocs, and Adobe, and the ability to learn specialized software 
• Experience working with Securian Financial Insurance policies preferred
