Business Development Coordinator
What are we looking for in our Business Development Coordinator?
Our legal client is looking for a bright, creative, client service-oriented Business Development Coordinator with excellent critical thinking skills, ability to build relationships with attorneys, and attention to detail. The Coordinator will support the business development team in connection with select practice groups. A successful candidate will understand the firm’s offerings as well as the attorneys’ individual priorities and clients.
Location: On-site in one of the following offices: (Irvine, Downtown LA, Century City or San Diego locations)
Compensation: $70,000-$90,000 based on experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management: Synthesize and manage multiple projects with key deadlines and milestones while keeping projects on track, including..
- Marketing Collateral: Prepare draft pitch materials, for review and customization. Maintain and update marketing collateral, practice group descriptions, bios, and matter lists. In addition, entering data into Foundation, the firm’s database for proposal content, experience items and pitch/proposal tracking.
- Business Development Research: Responsible for researching clients, prospects and track industry news.
- Seminars and other Strategic Events: Support attorneys and practice groups’ participation in both virtual and in-person events. This includes logistics such as event preparation for seminars, conference/association sponsorships, internal and external networking events, and other firm events. Pre- and post-event logistics, on-site support, ensuring sponsorship opportunities are leveraged; assisting in the coordination and execution of attorney participation are a requirement for the success of this position.
- Award Submissions: Collecting and coordinating data for practice group submissions to Chambers and other rankings/awards submissions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, liberal arts or related field is required.
- Minimum of one to three years of marketing and/or business development experience preferably in a professional services industry. Demonstrated experience with Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. Interaction experience is a plus.
- Must be a professional, independent thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to offer constructive opinions and creative solutions.
- Ability to think broadly and demonstrate a high level of initiative.
- Ability to work within a complex and multifaceted business environment.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to write business communications and effectively present information and respond to inquiries from all levels of professional and support staff, clients, associations, and vendors.
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects with minimal supervision.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills and an exacting attention to detail in all work product.
