Senior Mission Systems Engineer
What are we looking for in our Senior Mission Systems Engineer?
Job title: Senior Mission Systems Engineer
Location: Warton
Salary: Up to £49,834
What you’ll be doing:
- Definition of Mission Systems architectures, concepts, designs and requirements in collaboration with internal and external partners for prototypes and novel concepts
- Iterative design, development, integration, assessment and demonstration of Mission Systems implementations matched to requirements
- Driving and coordinating collaboration with team members, multi-disciplinary internal specialists, and external partners within appropriate Engineering Governance
- Ensuring products delivered are qualified, certified and safety assured, on time and to cost and quality requirements
- Providing timely, quality reporting and appropriately targeted communications into reviews
- Providing day-to-day Line Management for junior team members
Your skills and experiences:
You will have had experience/exposure to:
- Mission Systems Requirements Capture, Architecting, Design, Qualification and Certification
- Software development using one or more high-level programming languages (e.g. C, C++, Java)
- Early life cycle concept modelling, verification, simulation and prototyping
- Practical application of Agile methods across the requirements capture, planning and execution phases of projects
- Managing people and working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

The Systems Delivery Team:
The Systems Delivery Team, strives to shape and embed a robust software development capability employing modern techniques to deliver for next generation Mission Systems. This will drive technology value into our future products aligned with the Air Sector business strategy. It is critical to bring together experienced Mission Systems and Software Engineers to support the establishment of this new capability. This is a very different operating environment to well-established waterfall product development activities.
