Product Designer
What are we looking for in our Product Designer ?
Title: Product Designer
Duration: 8-month contract
Location: Beaverton, OR
Pay Rate: $45- $48/hr (Depending on Years of experience)
Summary:
- As our Lead Technical Designer, you will leverage your advanced knowledge of pattern-making, fit, and the product commercialization process to focus on the creation of Women’s Running Apparel. Your role may also extend to testing and validating products with consumers or athletes.
Responsibilities:
- Partner across the business to develop best-in-class Running Apparel on pre-season and in-season timelines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to create a variety of technical and performance garments while adhering to standards.
- Build specifications for garments and translate patterns into written product specs and construction standards.
- Utilize pattern-making software (Optitex) and 3D tools (CLO) to create virtual prototypes.
- Work closely with Design, Materials, Product Management, PCC/Development (overseas), and Operations partners to develop Running products.
- Engage in strategic problem-solving throughout the apparel development process from inception through production.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, Textile Science, or a related field, or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
- 8+ years of experience in the apparel development process, covering pattern making, grading, construction, costing, manufacturing, materials, and quality.
- Strong expertise in pattern-making and translating patterns into product specifications and construction standards.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and results orientation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage a high workload effectively.
- Proficiency in CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex) and 3D software (CLO) is highly desired.
- Proficiency with MS Office programs and Adobe Illustrator.
