Middleware Systems Administrator
What are we looking for in our Middleware Systems Administrator?
Job Title: Middleware System Administrator
Location: Winston-Salem NC
Pay: 113k to 125k per annum (Depending upon the experience)
Overview:
The Middleware Systems Administrator role will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and the day-to-day activities related to the Technology Infrastructure and Platform Systems portfolio within TCH Operations and Technology with oversight and governance for key systems administration initiatives ensuring the integrity of the distributed and mainframe platform services for our customer facing applications and corporate systems portfolio.
The Middleware Systems Admin role is specific to Middleware Technologies such as Sterling Connect Direct, IBM MQ, IBM Websphere Application Server, and Confluent Kafka.
Qualification:
- B.S. degree in Computer Science/Engineering, MIS or equivalent.
- 5-10 years as an infrastructure subject matter expert in IT/financial services.
- Ability to travel up to 20% (between NYC, NC and TX).
- Strong facilitation skills with working committees and steering committees.
- Very good knowledge within the Infrastructure ecosystem in execution of implementation initiatives, capacity management efforts, and design of high availability and backup & recover solutions.
- Positive track record of delivering large scale complex projects & initiatives.
- Ability to communicate with highly technical/quantitative as well as non-technical partners.
- Provide subject matter expertise and support all aspects of the Systems Administration environment including administration and maintenance, business continuity, backup and recovery, capacity management, change management, security management, and installation\configuration management in production and non-production environments.
- Strong knowledge of Sterling Connect Direct, IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
- Working knowledge of Configuration Management using Puppet.
- Working knowledge of Enterprise Scheduling using BMC Control-M.
- Strong knowledge of scripting in Java, PowerShell, Python and Node.js.
- Good understanding of supported Operating Systems, Windows, RHEL, and AIX.
- Work with other technical staff to coordinate activities and implementations, follow and document procedures, respond, track, and escalate systems incident.
- Follow change management and configuration management procedures and guidelines.
- Serve as technical lead /mentor /representative and provide technical guidance and mentorship.
- Serve as representative for all technical issues/discussion with peer support teams.
- Manage and delegate daily technical group tasks and efforts to appropriate staff/skills.
- Oversee and manage BAU projects such as infrastructure software upgrades, patch management.
- Provide oversight for technical deployment plans and system utilization reports.
- Extensive knowledge of core infrastructure components such as high availability/federation/replication.
- Provide assistance and problem support to infrastructure partners, application developers, business analysts and business users while assessing impacts and communicating effectively.
- Recommend innovative solutions aligned with the organizational initiatives and recognized problem areas.
- Architect, deploy and champion adherence of an enterprise approach facilitating best practice methodologies to stakeholders across the estate.
- Ensure synchronicity between application lifecycle environments related to infrastructure components.
- Coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure the continuity of the applications related to upgrades, versions, patches, and new releases.
- Collaborate with the Architecture department to ensure products and projects align to the TCH Reference Architecture guidelines.
- Create, maintain and present detailed technical documentation and executive summaries for key stakeholders, including senior management.
Rate/Salary: $113k to 125 per annum
