Russell Tobin is currently hiring for a Healthcare Transactional & Regulatory Attorney for a full-service law firm in Lake Success, NY. This firm offers the legal expertise of its 120+ attorneys, who have accumulated experience and problem-solving skills over decades of practice. They are a vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm and looking to increase its talented ranks of attorneys by adding someone with a demonstrated interested and 8+ years’ experience in healthcare transactional and regulatory law.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Interpret complex health care regulations and statutes and apply them to business and transactional matters.
• Build a rapport with doctors, hospitals, and other healthcare providers.
• Counsel and represent a diverse clientele of individual clients, partnerships, corporations, and not-for-profit organizations in healthcare mergers, acquisitions, equity investments, and other strategic transactions.
• Counsel clients in matters such as fraud, abuse, employment, shareholder agreements, mergers, and acquisitions, etc.
• Handle matters related to fraud and abuse, licensure, employment, shareholder and partnership agreements, affiliation agreements, and buy/sell agreements.
• Provide expert legal guidance on daily corporate governance matters and offer actionable solutions to complex issues.
• Advise healthcare providers, including skilled nursing facilities, diagnostic and treatment centers, imaging centers, home health care agencies, assisted living facilities, management service organizations, and physician practices.
• Offer outside general counsel services to various entities, including nursing home operators and large physician practices.
• Collaborate with partners and senior attorneys to develop innovative legal strategies and solutions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active bar membership in New York and in good standing.
• Exceptional understanding of healthcare regulations, industry practices and emerging trends.
• Eight plus years in healthcare law. We welcome those who have experience working as in-house counsel to healthcare entities such as ProHealth, Northwell, CityMD, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to be flexible, work independently with limited oversight and prioritize work tasks in an effective manner.
• Proven ability to creatively accomplish organization goals while assessing and managing legal risk.
• Collaborative with a can-do attitude balanced with the ability to gracefully communicate difficult messages.
• Comfortable working with all levels of business professionals, including senior management and all colleagues at other departments in a fast-paced environment.
