The Information Technology team at Russell Tobin & Associates is supporting a top social media organization that has an opening for a remote Sr. Content Designer-Design Systems.

100% Remote
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm PST
Pay Rate Range: $40 - $55/hour W2, based on experience
Duration: 1 year contract

About the Role:

• We're looking for an experienced Content Designer to join our Design Systems team and help us create a consistent, high-quality user experience.
• As a member of the team, you'll be responsible for designing components, patterns, and foundations for the design system. You'll also work to ensure that our standards and documentation are top-notch, so that our design system can be easily adopted by product teams across the company. Your work will be available to internal designers through our design tooling.
• You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with product designers, production designers, product teams, and engineers to make sure that our design system meets the needs of all our internal designers and serves all the people who use our products.

Responsibilities:

• Design and write clear, compelling language for product flows, interface language, education materials, product names, navigational nomenclature, terminology, taxonomies and other content across products and experiences.
• Partner with product designers to develop new components and patterns for our system
• Create or contribute to high-fidelity design mocks using Figma.
• Work in Figma to provide Accessibility Specs for design system components and patterns
• Develop and maintain content design standards and guidelines for our design system
• Apply systems thinking to the product, whether it’s defining extensible design system guidance, conducting audits of existing experiences or creating information architecture.
• Collaborate daily with peers across disciplines, including engineering, design, research, marketing and data science, to take products from conception to launch.

Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience as a content designer, UX writer, or similar role
• Strong proficiency in Figma
• Experience working with design systems - including work on components, patterns or foundations
• Experiences developing content design standards and guidelines
• Experience with taxonomies and terminology
• Examples of finished wireframes, or design mocks co-authored using design tools, that
• have been used to drive decision-making within a team.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and practices
• Experience working with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and product managers
