What are we looking for in our Instructional Designer?

Russell Tobin & Associates is currently seeking an Instructional Designer for one of our big tech clients. This position is a 5- month contract with the strong potential for extension for the right candidate. Apply today for immediate consideration.

Job Title: Instructional Designer

Pay: $62.50 - 65.94/hr (based on experience)

Duration: 5 months | Potential to Extend

Schedule: Monday – Friday // 40hrs/week

Location: Hybrid | Seattle, WA | 1-3 Days In Office

Overview:

This position serves as an Instructional Designer for the Tax department, responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining training material for tax employees.

Required Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of adult learning theories, practices, and principles of human behavior.
  • Designs, develops, and maintains instructor-led and on-demand training to meet employee development needs, utilizing instructional design techniques and technology.
  • Collaborates and works with tax subject matter experts to create training material.
  • Assesses and determines training needs and/or knowledge gaps.
  • Develops user guides, playbooks, and other training materials based on the identified needs.
  • Assists in determining the best delivery method for training (instructor-led, on-demand, or a mix of both).
  • Knowledge on how to generate and edit images, animations, text, and video.
  • Ability to work within tight timelines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating organization, time management, and teamwork.
  • Ability to formulate ideas and communicate them effectively in both written and oral formats to a wide range of audiences and situations.

Optional Qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge of tools such as Articulate 360, Camtasia, Snagit, GlobalMeet, Broadcast, and/or Cornerstone.
  • Knowledge of determining the best training tools for delivering the content.
  • Experience creating training material for Tax, Accounting, Finance, etc.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • 6-8 years of experience in a progressive training or teaching role, including experience in assessing needs, creating instructor-led training, and on-demand/eLearning training; corporate environment

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Degree in education and/or instructional design.
  • Experience designing WIKIs from a learning perspective.
  • Previous experience in a corporate setting as an instructional designer.
  • Learning Specialist with LMS Admin experience (Cornerstone or similar) and a background in backend LMS operations.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Articulate 360.
