What are we looking for in our Transportation Coordinator?

Russell Tobin + Associates is currently seeking a Transportation Coordinator in Phoenix, AZ. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a dynamic team and gain valuable experience in the ecommerce industry. This is a 3-month contract that is TEMP TO HIRE for successful contractors!

Job Title: Transportation Coordinator

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00/hour (based upon experience)

Duration: 4-months - CONTRACT TO HIRE

Schedule: Monday – Friday // 40hrs/week // 4 x 10

Location: HYBRID (3 days onsite; 1 day remote) in Phoenix, AZ

Shifts Available: Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday 

Our client is seeking a Transportation Coordinator - Freight Disruption with a strong background in data analysis and transportation planning. This role will primarily focus on managing disruptions in Inbound transportation, coordinating shipments, and analyzing freight data to ensure timely and efficient delivery. If you have experience in data analytics, responding to support tickets, and solving complex transportation issues, this is a great opportunity for you!

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage inbound transportation disruptions for shipping products, including backlogged freight and shipment delays.
  • Proactively resolve shipping issues with third-party logistics providers (3PL) by identifying the root cause and taking corrective action.
  • Plan transportation to alternate distribution centers when necessary.
  • Escalate unresolved issues or complications to appropriate teams.
  • Communicate with shippers, carriers, and internal teams via email, phone, and instant messaging to resolve shipment delays.
  • Analyze vendor and shipment data using Excel, including tasks such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data interpretation (no macros required).
  • Use Excel to track vendor activity and escalate issues as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for vendors, investigating shipment disruptions and working toward solutions.
  • Monitor and ensure cases are resolved within established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Assist with administrative tasks for the transportation group, including managing scheduled pickups, re-routing shipments, and interacting with various vendors.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum High School Diploma, bachelor's degree preferred for full-time conversion
  • 2+ years of experience in a related industry, including logistics, transportation coordination, project management, or customer service.
  • Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and analyzing data) and Microsoft Office
  • Previous experience in data analytics and responding to support tickets 
  • Able to work with multiple systems and screens (multiple tabs + systems at once)
