Employment Type: Contract/Hybrid

Location: Milwaukee, WI 53202

Pay range: $28/hr - $31/hr 

Duration: 6+ months (possible extension or conversion)

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain tax records and prepare tax returns and related reports for assigned areas, including federal, state, and local filings.
• Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize liability while ensuring compliance with regulations.
• Prepare taxable income projections, financial statements, and specialized accounting reports.
• Assist with tax return audits and compile compliance reports as needed.
• Generate reports for management and regulatory authorities, responding to inquiries regarding tax accounting policies and procedures.
• Maintain adequate accounting controls for assigned areas, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.
• Research tax technical guidance and financial reporting requirements to support decision-making and strategy development.
• Prepare IRS Forms 1120-RIC, 8613, 1065, and Schedule K-1s, coordinating distribution to investors and partners.
• Calculate mutual fund taxable income and manage book-to-tax differences for fiscal and excise tax purposes.
• Prepare estimates for income and capital gain/loss, including necessary adjustments and calculations for dividend distributions.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent work experience
• One to two years of related work experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required. Accounting degree preferred.
• CPA certification or candidate a plus.
• General understanding of legal, regulatory and accounting principles in investment management industry a plus.
• Flexibility with work hours as required in supporting the clients’ needs.
• Demonstrates ethics and integrity, adhering to Client’s core values and holds others accountable for upholding ethics and values.
