Senior PLC Automation Engineer
What are we looking for in our Senior PLC Automation Engineer ?
Summary:
Russell Tobin is seeking a self-motivated Automation Engineer with a robust technical background in process control and automation design to work with a leading food manufacturer in the Houston area. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience and a proven track record in engineering development, technical management, project coordination, and full-cycle project management. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining all aspects of the automation equipment in our canning facility, overseeing new machine installations, conducting troubleshooting, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions. You will also lead initiatives to enhance manufacturing cost-effectiveness and present projects to upper management for approval, ensuring efficient operation across all automation and process engineering areas.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in troubleshooting control system issues
- Experience in programming with Allen Bradley’s RSLogix/Studio 5000
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley’s FactoryTalk
- Competent in Design/Drafting using AutoCAD
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general computer literacy
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a positive attitude
- Creative problem-solving abilities with a focus on results and attention to detail
- Effective prioritization, multitasking, and deadline management skills
- Innovative and dedicated approach to problem-solving
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- 10 or more years of directly related experience in the manufacturing environment
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous
Rate/Salary: $140,000-$160,000/year
