What are we looking for in our Estimator?

We are seeking an experienced Estimator for our Mount Vernon, NY Office. The Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the total costs associated with a project by executing a detailed line-item budget by trade with unit costs. The ideal candidate must have an acute attention to detail and demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with fixed deadlines.

What You Will Do

• Prepare detailed conceptual budgets and estimating from pre-construction, concept design, schematic design and design development documents
• Perform detailed take-offs of all trades. Initiate and manage entire bid process (construction management and general contractor) inclusive of preparation of detailed bid package
• Ensure accurate and proper submissions & proposals by all subcontractors
• Attend and lead subcontractor calls and meetings as needed
• Conduct on-site walk-throughs as needed

• 4+ years of experience in budgeting and estimating for commercial construction projects. Both ground-up and commercial interior knowledge required. Retail construction experience a plus.
• Proven ability to compile complete estimates and hard bid packages with trade breakdowns
• Strong presentation skills and ability to lead or participate meetings with subcontractors, clients, owners, and architects as needed
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong knowledge of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
