Machine / Press Operator
What are we looking for in our Machine / Press Operator ?
Russell Tobin has partnered with a quickly growing specialty manufacturer in the Saint Paul area to add to their manufacturing team! This is a direct-hire/permanent position with overtime available. They operate on three shifts:
1st shift: 5:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday - $21.00/hour
2nd shift: 3:30pm-1:00am Monday-Thursday - $22.00/hour
3rd shift: 5:00am-5:30pm Thursday-Sunday - $23.50/hour
Summary: This position requires 1 to 2 years of experience with operating press machines (flexographic). The associate must possess strong technical skills, basic setup capabilities, the ability to operate equipment, and follow work instructions. They should have a working knowledge of the operational and safety requirements for converting presses within the Value Stream and be well-versed in product quality, processes, and procedures. The associate must be able to meet production schedules.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and run basic jobs independently using press diagrams, videos, and work instructions.
- Communicate rate deficiencies to management according to prescribed procedures.
- Perform and document quality inspections following Quality Department procedures and Engineering work instructions.
- Ensure accurate entries in the computer time clock system.
- Accurately document inspection results.
- Contribute positively to the company’s safety, quality, and production goals.
- Report any unsafe working conditions to Management.
- Interpret prints accurately.
Training/Education/Experience:
- High School education or equivalent.
- 1 or more years of rotary press experience or technical training from an accredited trade school.
- Ability to accurately interpret basic prints.
- Proficient in PC skills, including Microsoft Office products.
- Medical manufacturing experience is a plus.
- Lean manufacturing experience is a plus, including 5S, S.M.E.D., and continuous improvement.

- Extreme attention to detail with paperwork.
Rate/Salary: $21.00-$23.50/hour
