What are we looking for in our Sourcing Specialist II?
Job Title: Sourcing Specialist II
Location: Plymouth, MN 55442, United States
W2 Contract Duration: 12 months (with potential to extend or convert)
Pay Rate: $25-31/hour
Work Structure: Hybrid - Onsite 3 days per week
Position Overview:
We are seeking a Sourcing Specialist II to join our team and help manage the supply base, ensuring that suppliers meet our key sourcing priorities—Delivery, Quality, New Product Integration, and Cost Competitiveness. You will lead cross-functional coordination to support production vehicles and collaborate with the commodity team to implement strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Coordinate resources across departments to support vehicle production and development.
- Supplier Relations: Manage supplier relationships, identify concerns, and support cost recovery and problem resolution initiatives.
- Cost Management: Monitor cost and coordinate cost reduction projects, supplier exits, and tooling transitions.
- Sourcing Management: Solicit quotes, manage supplier communications for new components, and negotiate tooling costs.
- Supplier Performance: Drive performance to meet quality and delivery expectations, support supplier capacity improvements, and assist with part shortages.
Ideal Candidate Background:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a technical area.
- Preferred Certifications: APICS CPIM or ISM C.P.M./A.P.P.
- Experience: 2+ years in purchasing, sales, or engineering.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, decision-making, and communication skills; project management expertise; and knowledge of MAPICS MRP and project management tools.
Tools You'll Use:
MAPICS MRP, Microsoft Office (PowerPoint), and web-based business systems.
