Job Description

A highly respected medical group in New York City is seeking an experienced medical registrar to assist their surgery department. Hours will be 9am-5pm.

Job Summary:

  • The Receptionist performs a variety of tasks as it is the first contact via telephone by the prospective patient including providing excellent customer/patient services via phone and in person; referring callers to the appropriate departments; making appointments for patients; assisting patients/clients with forms.
  • Serve as a point of contact with other internal and external department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greets and receives all visitors/patients who approach the Receptionist Area 
  • Answers all questions related Medical Center Services, the location of these services and how the services can be obtained
  • Provides in-patient information and is responsible for the Visitor Pass policy 
  • Answers routine questions and directs patients/visitors to appropriate areas within Medical Center
  • Answers telephones and responds to routine inquiries regarding patient information utilizing the ADT and patient Census reports
  • Issues patient visitor passes to authorized persons per medical center policy
  • Maintains an orderly Visitor Pass Filing System
  • Monitors visitor pass for shortage and replacements
  • Picks-up census sheets from admitting office
  • Prepares Incident Reports on any injury occurring in the
  • Notifies Environmental Services if Lobby Area needs to be clean
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bilingual Spanish strongly preferred
  • at least 1 year medical experience required. ER or hospital setting preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
