Job Description

Brooklyn hospital seeks an Executive Director of Regulatory Affairs to oversee and coordinate the departments of Risk Management, Quality and Performance Improvement, Regulatory Affairs and Accreditation, Patient Safety, and Patient Rights  


  • Serve as a counsel C-Level Executives and senior administration for questions related to: employment, accreditation, regulatory requirements, quality of care and patient safety, publicly reported quality measures, litigation, and institutional governance, to improve processes and reduce risk exposure.
  • Responsible for operational management of all regulatory surveys and the subsequent preparation, submission, implementation, and tracking of any corrective action plans for a statement of deficiencies.
  • Direct the Joint Commission regulatory process and the facility’s continuous “Accreditation and Regulatory Readiness Team” (ART).
  • Responsible for investigating and preparing /reviewing response to inquiries/patient complaints from Federal, State or City agencies. 
  • Serves as member on medical executive committees (e.g. Credentials & Bylaws, MEC, QCEC, QCAC, Infection Control, Patient Safety, Pharmacy & Therapeutics Committee, Utilization Review and Ethics) and hospital-wide departmental committees (e.g. QCRC, QCAC, compliance, ART).
  • Serves as member of the Emergency Management Committee and Alternate Incident Commander, as well as chief for the Operations and Planning sections.


  • A minimum of five years progressive experience in senior management positions in an acute hospital setting including, but not limited to, regulatory and accreditation, quality and performance improvement, risk management, credentialing and privileging; patient safety
  • Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, foreign medical graduate with at least five (5) years clinical experience, or related licensure in clinical field preferred
  • Master’s Degree required
